Serial Experiments Lain (1998)

i know im not supposed to talk about any other thing related to music but i just cant skip this story and i need to get it out of my head lol. also i know it might be a bit silly to talk about an anime or a game so seriously but i cant help myself to actually take it serious cuz of how real the story feels. If you havent heard about serial experiments lain, its late 90s science fiction anime show that was and still is very ahead of its time, i really recommend it if u are into computers, internet, trippy stuff.
But im not here to talk about the anime itself, this ""franchise"" got a game for the ps1 (psx) while the show was airing and its a completely different story from the anime, being and feeling more real, being unsettling, so raw. it kinda didnt get much recognision from the public mostly cuz of how confusing and dense the game is, like u have to read notes and hear audios of the story by searching this nodes in the game system but they made it so confusing to find this nodes in order and it kinda ruins the experience ngl. but talking with no spoilers its ,like i said, really raw it touches topics that nowadays its not really talked enough( or at least from what i hear ) like mental health but on another level not just depression,its more of dealing with mental diseases, identity crisis, losing sense of what it feels real and what is not, even memory loss. for me its was so scary to see how this characters that at first they seem relatable to the player,but then they get to a point of no return on their minds, losing every single to hope to live and for me its really more frightening than any horror or shock movie that i could watch. honestly im not gonna recommend playing the actual game but if u are really curious about the story u can give it a try and play the simplified version of it so u get a better grasp of whats actually going on.
